Police have provided a significant update following an assault on a caring mother in her residence. Helen Bird, 47, sustained severe injuries during an incident at a property on High Street in Chelveston, Northamptonshire, on the morning of February 2. Despite being taken to the hospital, she passed away on February 10. Authorities confirmed a murder inquiry was initiated subsequent to her demise.
James Daniel Bird, 50, residing on High Street, Chelveston, was initially accused of attempted murder related to the event on February 3. With Helen Bird’s death, he is now facing a murder charge. He is scheduled to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on March 10.
In a statement issued via the police, Helen Bird’s family depicted her as a cherished daughter, dedicated mother of two, sister, and friend. They mentioned, “She was generous, selfless, and deeply devoted to her family, always prioritizing her children.” Her family reflected on her warmth, empathy, and quiet resilience that left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. The family expressed profound sorrow over her passing and immense pride in the person she was.
