Danica Patrick Departing Sky Sports F1 Coverage

Danica Patrick, a former NASCAR driver and Formula 1 commentator, recently announced her departure from Sky Sports’ coverage for the upcoming F1 season. The 43-year-old made this decision to shift her focus to other endeavors after being a part of Sky Sports’ F1 broadcast team since 2021.

While Patrick had been a regular presence in Sky Sports’ F1 coverage, she was notably missing from the recent press release revealing the lineup for the new season set to commence in Australia. Known for her controversial political views and support for former US President Donald Trump, Patrick has faced criticism from fans, including incidents where her comments led to tension with fellow analyst Jenson Button.

In a statement on Instagram, Patrick expressed gratitude for her time with Sky Sports, highlighting the exciting experiences she had covering F1 races. She explained that her decision to leave was driven by a desire to explore new opportunities, including launching a new company and engaging in various sports activities like tennis, golf, and skiing.

Despite Patrick’s exit, Sky Sports has not introduced any new faces for the upcoming season. Analyst Naomi Schiff is expected to return after a maternity leave hiatus, while presenter Natalie Pinkham will make a comeback at the Japanese Grand Prix following a period of absence due to neck surgery.

Formula 1 enthusiasts can catch all the action live with Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, which also offers access to a wide range of TV channels and complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.
