An elderly man was discovered deceased at his residence, prompting a homicide investigation.
The 82-year-old individual’s body was found by law enforcement officers on West End Lane in Camden, London, around 11:25 am on Thursday, March 5, following a welfare check.
The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, had already passed away when the authorities arrived, and a 53-year-old male was apprehended within the house on suspicion of murder. An inquiry is currently in progress, and the detained individual is under police custody.
Authorities are working to locate his relatives, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted in the near future, as per a report by MyLondon.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart stated: “A dedicated team of investigators is swiftly piecing together the circumstances surrounding the demise of this individual. Presently, the authorities are treating this as an isolated occurrence with no threat to the broader community.

The Metropolitan Police released a statement saying: “Following concerns about the well-being of an octogenarian in a residence in Camden, a murder investigation has been initiated. A 53-year-old suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and is currently in police detention.
“Law enforcement responded to distress calls regarding the 82-year-old man on West End Lane, NW6, at approximately 11:25 hrs on Thursday, March 5. Upon arrival, medical personnel from the London Ambulance Service confirmed the man’s passing. Efforts are underway to identify and notify the victim’s next of kin.
“The arrest occurred inside the property shortly after the police arrived at the scene. A post-mortem examination will be carried out in the coming days.”
