“FCDO Updates Travel Advice for 8 Middle East Countries”

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has recently updated travel advice for eight countries in response to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and Iran. The revised guidance, effective from March 6, includes “do not travel” advisories for certain nations and modified instructions for exiting others.

Countries affected by the updated travel advice include Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Jordan. Notably, the FCDO has issued specific details regarding global travel impacts in Bangladesh due to escalating tensions in the Middle East.

In Pakistan, the FCDO has provided updated information on regional escalations, such as flight disruptions and protests. Similarly, in Lebanon, British citizens are advised to register their presence in the country.

Following drone strikes in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan, the FCDO has updated information on regional risks. Additionally, the FCDO now advises against all but essential travel to Kuwait due to terrorism risks and urges travelers to register their presence in the country.

The FCDO has also adjusted its terrorism risk assessment for Jordan and provided new guidance on departing from Israel and Palestine. Meanwhile, a Labour Party government-chartered aircraft recently evacuated British citizens from the Middle East, landing in the UK after departing from Muscat, Oman.

Notably, over 140,000 Britons have registered their locations in the Middle East with the FCDO, with 4,000 successfully returning home. For the latest updates on the situation in the Middle East, readers can access a live blog provided by the Mirror.
