The area was sealed off for safety measures as police, firefighters, and paramedics converged on the scene around 3.20pm. Reports indicate a significant presence of emergency vehicles, including eight police cars, two fire engines, four fire cars, an ambulance, and a rapid response vehicle.
The authorities from Wiltshire Police confirmed the fatality, revealing that the deceased woman was in her 40s and her next of kin have been notified. The woman’s identity has not been disclosed at this time. A police spokesperson expressed sorrow over the incident, stating that no suspicious circumstances are suspected in connection with the tragic event.
Additionally, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service reported their involvement in the incident at Orchard Crescent, with two crews from Chippenham responding to the call. One crew remains at the scene to assist the ongoing operations.
