“Trump Demands Unconditional Surrender from Iran”

Donald Trump has stated that he will only agree to the “unconditional surrender” of Iran. The United States and Israel initiated an attack last Saturday, resulting in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. President Trump indicated a reluctance to engage in negotiations with Iran to resolve the conflict in the Middle East, insisting that Tehran must surrender unconditionally for any potential deal to take place.

In a recent statement, Trump emphasized, “There will be no agreement with Iran unless there is UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER! Following this, and the appointment of competent and acceptable leaders, the United States, along with its allies, will collaborate to revive Iran from the brink of ruin, fostering its economic growth and resilience.”

Trump further expressed optimism for Iran’s future, stating, “Iran will prosper greatly. ‘Make Iran Great Again (MIGA!).’ Thank you for your attention to this issue! President Donald J. Trump.” He has reiterated his stance that the future leader of Iran must align with the interests of the United States.

During a brief address at the White House, Trump urged the Iranian populace to participate in reclaiming their nation, assuring them of “immunity” under US protection. However, he also warned of potential consequences, stating, “So you’ll be perfectly safe with total immunity,” without elaborating on the specifics, “Or you’ll face absolutely guaranteed death.”

In an interview with Axios, Trump expressed his desire to play a role in selecting Iran’s new supreme leader, expressing skepticism towards Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, as a potential successor, referring to him as “a lightweight.” Trump emphasized the need for a leader who can bring peace and unity to Iran.

Iranian state television recently reported that a leadership council, consisting of President Masoud Pezeshkian, judiciary chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehi, and cleric Ayatollah Ali Reza Arafi, has commenced discussions on convening the Assembly of Experts to elect the new supreme leader. The timeline for the selection process and the format of the Assembly of Experts’ meeting remains unspecified. Notably, buildings associated with the Assembly of Experts have been targeted during the ongoing Israeli-US airstrikes.
